Stevens|While its a good read about the original design of Windows NT, the overall design has drifted since then with more and more services going into kernel space. It's still interesting to see how ambitious NT was, and that the hardware of the time really held it back.

This makes a good companio|.com |Beginning with broad NT concepts and then focusing sequentially on various key systems, Solomon dissects NT with a surgeon's care and a software engineer's thoroughness. That's not to say that this book is mainly about writing programs. Rather, this is th
